life transitions ~ body image ~ mindfulness-based CBT ~

I’ve always been in awe of our bodies and how they work.

Growing up surrounded by diet culture convinced me that the best version of my body was for it to be small. I was sure that I would be okay if I could control my body. This even led me to a career as a dietitian.

But as I learned through life experience and work with patients, I realized that controlling body shape and size was not honoring of the bodies I so revered.

I worked hard to make peace with my own body, food, and movement, to bring each of those into harmony, rather than wielding them against each other. I realized my patients didn't need nutrition information nearly so much as they needed to heal their fractured relationships with their bodies, just like me. I went back to school to learn to help them do just that.

I love helping my clients strengthen their sense of identity, re-connect w/ their own agency, and feel empowered to care for themselves.

My favorite thing is to work with many different types of clients - no two people are the same, right? Some of the issues I often help people with are: body image, anxiety, big life transitions, and healing their relationship with exercise.

my clients describe me as friendly, dedicated, and insightful
